Day 23 - favorite book! I am such a book worm, so I absolutely love todays challenge. (I sound like such a geek!) I have so many favorites and it upsets me to have to choose just one. I love reading great big romantic novels that have me either crying with joy or crying out of sadness. I love those books that just grab you and never let go! I'm a sucker for romance yet I can still sit and enjoy some sort of crime book that has deaths and medical terms. Some of my favorite authors include: Stephanie Meyer, J.K Rowling, Nora Roberts, Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult. I could go on but the list would be endless. :)
So, getting back to todays challenge... my favorite book would have to be 'My sister's keeper - Jodi Picoult.' While reading this book I was an emotional wreck! I can't exactly remember how long it took me to read this book but I can assure you it took me quite a while because I had to stop so many times just to cry. I read the end of this book on a plane and on this plane I was sitting next to this very kind old lady. When I read the ending I just couldn't control myself. I cried and sobbed like a baby. Yup! In public - on a crowded plane AND I had the aisle seat. I honestly couldn't control myself, and to be completely honest I didn't realize I was 'properly' crying because I was so upset! The kind lady next to me just put her hand on my shoulder and passed me a tissue. I had a really good cry and then fell asleep.
I have never been able to bring myself to read that book again because I just got so attached to it the first time and I don't want to read it again and ... ruin it? I've never been that emotional while reading a book before and I must say I love it when a book can do something like that to you!
So here it is 'My sister's keeper - Jodi Picoult.' :
And - I'm not a fan of the movie. :S |
Since we're talking about books, I'd like to add that in the future I might do book reviews. Since I do read a lot why not let you all in on how much I either enjoyed the book or how much I hated the book :) Books that I'm sure I will do a review on in the future include: Tess of the D'Urbervilles, The mortal instruments series and Songs of the Humpback whale. SO look out for these reviews! Until next time Amigos!
From the other side of the rainbow.
